PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To greatly improve data transfer speed to a semiconductor memory at low cost by a simple circuit configuration. SOLUTION: Pass gates 17, 17a, 18 and 18a each transferring a read enable signal RE and read data are installed in a bridge chip 4 arranged at a memory card. In reading operation in the memory card, the read data are transferred to the semiconductor memory via either of the pass gates 17 and 17a, and consequently, data transfer speed can be improved greatly.
