PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a liquid level detector for a well to accurately detect a liquid level of the well irrespective of a change in environment temperature, with sufficient durability secured and its structure simplified. SOLUTION: A detection tube 2, formed out of a heat-resistant and corrosion-resistant material, is inserted into the well 1 so that its end part is dipped into a liquid in the well 1. A restrictor 5 is provided between an air supply source 3 and the detection tube 2, with the supply source 3 capable of continuously supplying air of pressure and amount enough to cause the air to leak out from the end of the detection tube 2. An on-off valve 9 for bypassing the restrictor 5 is provided between the supply source 3 and the detection tube 2.
