PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a molded item for optical applications that exhibits excellent adhesion to other resins, coating agents or the like, is suitable for adhesion particularly under a temperature condition for drying in a practical process and exhibits excellent optical properties, and an imide resin used for manufacturing the film. SOLUTION: The imide resin is excellent in optical properties such as transparency, has a water-vapor permeability coefficient suitable for adhesion to other resins, and has a small oriented birefringence.
