PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a detergent composition suitable for washing agents and cosmetics for hair and skin that can give an excellent conditioning effect to hair and skin and can keep an excellent effect over a long period of time. SOLUTION: The detergent composition comprises an aqueous solution containing an acid type anionic surfactant and an oil component or is prepared by adding a basic compound to an aqueous solution containing an acid type anionic surfactant and an oil component, wherein the acid type anionic surfactant can be a mixture of an anionic surfactant and an acid, and the oil component preferably contains a sugar-fatty acid ester, and preferably further contains polyvinylpyrroridone.
