PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To reliably bring out tire performance by performing braking at the braking timing in the highest traveling. SOLUTION: In an optimum braking control method, information on the traveling state before the game, the information on the traveling state of a vehicle before a race, is acquired (ST1), and a neural network is constituted and stored (ST2). Information on the traveling state in the race, or the traveling state during the present race, is acquired (ST5). Since information on the traveling state before the race constitutes the neural network, information on the traveling state during the highest LAP which is the traveling state when a vehicle travels on a circuit at the highest LAP time is derived from information on the traveling state before the race (ST9). The braking timing during the highest LAP is derived from the information on the traveling state during the highest LAP and the information on the traveling state at the race (ST10). Thus, braking is performed at the braking timing during the highest LAP, and the friction force of a tire is brought out as much as possible for the traveling.
