PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a deceleration mechanism capable of realizing the combination with various kinds of versatile motors, and enhancing the degree of versatility of the design of a vehicular seat by obtaining the rotational force of a pinion gear on its output side at low cost. SOLUTION: The deceleration mechanism for driving a seat consists of case members 1a, 1b to be mounted on a driving motor, and a taumel mechanism equipped in the case members. The taumel mechanism comprises an internal gear 2 having a pinion gear 2c as an output shaft, an external gear 3 having external teeth of different number of teeth by at least one from that of internal teeth of the internal gear 2, an offset shaft 4 slidably in contact with a conical surface 3b cut in the center of the external gear 3 by a conical part 4b, and a link piece 5 to regulate the rotation of the external gear 3. A connection member 6 which is connected to an output shaft of the driving motor and concentrically rotated is connected to the offset shaft 4 via a spring 7, and the offset shaft 4 is urged to be pressed against the external gear 3 by the spring 7.
