PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a process for an efficient production of polyester particles from polyesters of a low polymerization degree by the strand cut method, polyester particles, a production process of polyester resin particles by the solid phase polycondensation of said polyester particles, and polyester resin particles. SOLUTION: Provided are a production process of polyester particles, polyester particles, a production process of polyester resin particles to carry out the solid phase polycondensation of said particles and polyester resin particles, wherein following steps are conducted sequentially: (1) a step to discharge a molten polyester with a melt viscosity of 0.5 Pa s-50 Pa s from a die hole and form the polyester into strands, (2) a step to have the obtained polyester strands contacted with a liquid fluid for cooling and guide them to a cutter together with the liquid fluid, and (3) a step to cut the polyester strands guided to the cutter, and wherein the haul-off speed ratio of the polyester strands as shown in the formula 1 is 1.5-100.
