PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a chip eliminating method for eliminating chips without using processing oil. SOLUTION: This method relates to eliminating of chips 300 including the processing oil adhered to a machining device 100 or a workpiece 200 at the time of machining. Washing liquid 50a having lower viscosity than that of the processing oil and compatibility with the processing oil is sprayed in a mist state to the chips 300. If the washing liquid 50a having lower viscosity than that of the processing oil and compatibility with the processing oil is adhered to the chips 300, viscosity of the processing oil can be lowered by a dilution effect. Adhesive power of the chips 300 adhered in an adhesion state therefore can be lowered in addition to an effect of the low viscosity of the washing liquid 50 itself. The chips 300 lowered with the adhesive power can be blown and eliminated by air when spraying the washing liquid 50a.
