REINFORCED PLASTIC FOAM CUP, METHOD OF AND APPARATUS OF MANUFACTURING SAME

The invention provides a method of manufacturing a reinforced plastic
foam cup and involves providing a plastic foam cup having a bottom wall at a
bottom end of the cup and a conical shaped side wall integrally formed at one
end with the bottom wall and extending from the bottom wall to an open top end

along a first line. The method involves positioning the cup in an upside down
position and positioning a reinforcing member along the first line. The
reinforcement member includes a concavely shaped top edge, a convexly
shaped bottom edge, and a center point along a central vertical axis, and is
attached by a pressure sensitive adhesive layer covering substantially the
entire inner surface of the body. A cup reinforcing apparatus for carrying out

the method is also disclosed.
