PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an active ray-curable composition and an active ray-curable ink-jet ink composition free of problems in curability, cured film odor and cured film discoloration, and to provide a method for image formation and an ink-jet printer each using the same.

SOLUTION: The active ray-curable composition and the active ray-curable ink-jet ink composition each contains an onium salt as photoinitiator and also contains a polymeric sensitizer. The method for image formation and the ink-jet printer each using the same are also provided, respectively.
