<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a game program which can make a play character perform various actions in a game using the input to a pointing device, and a game apparatus. <P>SOLUTION: The game apparatus makes a memory of the game apparatus memorize individual input positions detected with prescribed intervals of time by an input apparatus in the order of being detected, and calculates a locus vector showing at least a part of a locus drawn by a player on an input plane from the individual input positions. Then, it calculates a reference vector which makes a prescribed position on the input place be a starting point and a position determined by the locus vector be a finishing point.
