<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To position a nozzle with high precision and simplify manufacturing processes. <P>SOLUTION: This liquid discharge head comprises a plurality of cylindrical piezoelectric elements formed extending almost perpendicularly from a planar piezoelectric material, wiring for supplying a drive signal to the cylindrical piezoelectric elements formed in the planar piezoelectric material, and a common liquid chamber formed on the opposite side to the side where the cylindrical piezoelectric elements are formed, with regard to the planar piezoelectric material. In addition, one end of the cylinder of the cylindrical piezoelectric element is connected with the planar piezoelectric material, a cylindrical hollow part communicates with the common liquid chamber through a supply aperture formed in the planar piezoelectric material and a liquid is supplied to the cylindrical interior from the common liquid chamber. Further, the other end of the hollow part of the cylinder constitutes a nozzle whose cylindrical end surface is treated for liquid repellency.
