PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To reproduce multichannel data normally on a reproduction side even when the multichannel data are selectively transmitted in a compressed or uncompressed state and selectively allowed or disallowed to be mixed down on the reproduction side. SOLUTION: ATSI includes a first identifier indicating whether multichannel data in an audio packet are compressed or not and a second identifier allowing or disallowing the multichannel data to be mixed down into two stereo channels.
