PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an information processing apparatus capable of improving convenience in the switching of an alarm state of an alarm apparatus. SOLUTION: The alarm apparatus 7 is constituted so as to be switched to a first alarm state in which an alarm is generated when abnormality is generated and a second alarm state in which no alarm is generated even when abnormality is generated. A telephone set 1 is connected to the alarm apparatus 7 to switch the alarm state of the alarm apparatus 7. The telephone set 1 is constituted so as to respond to a response request output from a doorphone apparatus 5. The telephone set 1 determines whether the alarm state of the alarm apparatus 7 should be switched or not on the basis of information indicating the state of the response to the response request output from the doorphone apparatus 5 and the information indicating the alarm state of the alarm apparatus 7. When no necessity of switching is determined, the telephone set 1 maintains the alarm state of the alarm apparatus 7, and when the necessity of switching is determined, switches the alarm state of the alarm apparatus 7.
