PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To prevent cutting liquid from spattering from a tray, and prevent chips from clogging a transfer path of cutting liquid. SOLUTION: This chip recovery device has a trough 11 having a constant transfer path for transferring chip-containing cutting liquid exhausted from a machine tool, and a tray 12 having a flow inlet 31 connected with a terminal end of the transfer path of the trough 11. The tray 12 has a peak cover 13. A cutting liquid-spattering prevention plate 14 is hanged from the cover 13 to swing in a direction for approaching to the terminal end against the transfer path terminal end, and being separated from it.
