PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an impact tool capable of reducing noises without deterioration of fastening ability. SOLUTION: In this impact tool, a rotary impact mechanism is mounted to a spindle 7 rotary-driven by a motor, and a rotary impact force generated by the rotary impact mechanism is intermittently transmitted to a tip tool 4 via an anvil 3 from a hammer 8, so as to give a rotary impact force to the tip tool 4. A shock absorbing mechanism which exerts a shock-absorbing function in a rotary direction and an axial direction and directly transmits a rotary torque with more than a setting value is provided to the anvil 3 (or the tip tool 4), and a spring constant in the rotary direction of a rubber damper (shock absorber) 13 of the shock absorbing mechanism is set larger than that in axial direction.
