PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an electrical inspection device and an electrical inspection method for printed circuit boards which makes switch-over of detectors unnecessary and enables inexpensive inspection. SOLUTION: The electrical inspection device 10 which inspects a printed circuit board 11 electrically, by bringing an inspecting probe 36 into contact with a contact 11a of the printed board 11 set on a setting device 20, is provided with a detector 37 to which the inspecting probe 36 is fitted, a drive unit, a reaction force detecting sensor 38, and a controller unit 50. Moreover, the drive unit is constituted of a supporting member 35 to which the detector 37 is attached removably, and a motor 32 which moves the supporting member 35 and brings the inspecting probe 36 into contact with the printed board 11. The sensor 38 detects a reaction force applied to the motor 32, when the inspecting probe 36 is brought into contact with the printed board 11, and according to its detected value the controller unit 50 drives the motor 32.
