<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an alumina porous body having excellent characteristic in alkali resistance. <P>SOLUTION: The alumina porous body is structured by bonding Al<SB>2</SB>O<SB>3</SB>particles to each other and the Al<SB>2</SB>O<SB>3</SB>particles are bonded with a compound (Ln<SB>x</SB>Al<SB>y</SB>O<SB>z</SB>) of Al<SB>2</SB>O<SB>3</SB>and a rare earth (Ln) oxide. The rare earth (Ln) oxide is at least one kind of a rare earth oxide selected from Gd<SB>2</SB>O<SB>3</SB>, La<SB>2</SB>O<SB>3</SB>and Y<SB>2</SB>O<SB>3</SB>. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2007,JPO&INPIT |
