<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a fine barium titanate powder with a uniform particle diameter where particle growth is suppressed when sintered using barium carbonate and a titanium oxide, its manufacturing method at a low cost and in large amounts and its sintered compact where the obtained barium titanate powder is sintered and which consists of a fine crystalline particle with a uniform particle diameter. <P>SOLUTION: The barium titanate powder where the diameter D50 of a 50 vol% is 100 nm or less in particle size distribution and the ratio D90/D50 of the diameter D90 of a 90 vol% to D50 is 3 or less is obtained by heat-treating the mixture of barium carbonate and the titanium oxide at 600-1,100°C and at an atmosphere in which the partial pressure of carbon dioxide is 400-1,000 ppm. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2007,JPO&INPIT |
