<p><P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a tensioning device that makes it possible to easily branch a transmission line or carry out other like processing without removing any existing tension plate. <P>SOLUTION: The tensioning device 1 is formed by providing a yoke 11 on the free end side (right angle clevis 10 side) of a suspension insulator 6, and installing tension clamps 13, 14 on this yoke 11 in the direction in which transmission lines C1, C2 are installed. This tensioning device 1 is attached to an existing tension plate T2, and the transmission line C1 is anchored by the first tension clamp 13 and the transmission line C2 is anchored by the second tension clamp 14.
