<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a method of screening quickly and easily an antidepressant substance. <P>SOLUTION: This method of screening the antidepressant substance concerned in the present invention includes a process for preparing a cell indicating a fixed electrophysiological response by prescribed stimulation, of which the electrophysiological response varies by contacting with a depression-related substance, a candidate substance treating process for bringing a candidate substance of a screening object and the depression-related substance into contact with the prepared cell, and for measuring the electrophysiological response in the cell, a control treating process for bringing the depression-related substance into contact with the prepared cell, and for measuring the electrophysiological response in the cell, and an evaluation process for evaluating whether a change of the electrophysiological response measured in the cell brought into contact with the depression-related substance in the control treating process is restrained or not in the cell brought into contact with the candidate substance and the depression-related substance in the candidate substance treating process. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2007,JPO&INPIT |
