<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an outboard motor capable of reducing the vibrations and noise generated by the operation of a drive source without degrading the steering performance. <P>SOLUTION: The outboard motor comprises a drive source unit (an engine cover and a motor cover 34) to accommodate a drive source (an engine and an electric motor) and a drive unit consisting of a drive shaft 40 which is mounted on a hull and connected to at least the drive source and driven and a propeller connected to the drive shaft 40 via a gear mechanism.
