PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a three-dimensional CAD system allowing a user to properly select all the objects thoroughly when the user designates a part of the objects to be selected without designating all of them. SOLUTION: In this three-dimensional CAD program, geometric information is extracted from the geometric shape selected by the user, a geometric condition to be applied is derived from the extracted geometric information, and the geometric shape satisfying the geometric condition is automatically detected. In this way, once the user selects the geometric shape, geometric shapes having a fixed relation with the selected geometric shape are detected automatically, and labor required from the user for selecting the geometric shape can be reduced greatly.
