PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a means to surely peel even thin paper from a toner image carrier. SOLUTION: The image forming apparatus is equipped with: an image carrier on which a toner image is carried; a temperature-sensitive adhesive belt which shows first adhesive force to the paper to which the toner image is transferred at first temperature and second adhesive force weaker than the first adhesive force thereto at second temperature different from the first temperature; and a temperature control means which sets the pressing position of the temperature-sensitive adhesive belt where the paper is pressed against the image carrier to the first temperature and the release position thereof where the paper is released to the second temperature.
