PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a method for manufacturing a tablet detergent composition containing a non-ionic surfactant which has a low foaming property, does excellent cleaning, has the detergency which is not affected by the hardness of water, has good biodegradability and thus applies less environmental load, is less toxic and thus does not have a safety problem, and at the same time, having excellent usability without requiring any measurement for its use, and to provide a method for manufacturing a tablet detergent composition being excellent in solubility into water, and having excellent mechanical strength with excellent productivity. SOLUTION: The method according to the present invention comprises (a) a kneading process of kneading the tablet detergent composition containing the non-ionic surfactant and a gel-like agent, to produce a kneaded product and (b) a molding process of molding the kneaded product, to produce a tablet.
