PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an oil-in-water type emulsion composition produced by simple method, having excellent time-dependent stability and feeling in application and expressing wide range of viscosity. SOLUTION: The oil-in-water type emulsion composition contains a higher fatty acid liquid at ordinary temperature and an anionic surfactant and has≤0.2 mass ratio content of a surfactant except the anionic surfactant and≤400nm average emulsion particle size. The higher fatty acid liquid at ordinary temperature is preferably isostearic acid and/or oleic acid. The method for producing the oil-in-water type emulsion composition is to mix and emulsify an oil phase containing a compound expressing the anionic surfactant by neutralization with a water phase in an acidic condition expressing no anionic surfactant, subsequently add a neutralization agent to express the anionic surfactant. The invention is applied to an oil-in-water type emulsion composition especially having≥25 mass% rate of the oil ingredient. COPYRIGHT: (C)2007,JPO&INPIT
