PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a metal bag folding method capable of neatly folding a metal bag in a bellows fashion even when it is longitudinal, stabilizing the developing speed and the developing direction of the metal bag, and solving a problem such as a burst during the development. SOLUTION: In the metal bag folding method in which a half-developed metal bag 10' with both side face parts thereof being formed in a bellows fashion is pressed into a folded shape, a rod-shaped guide bar 13 is passed through each recess in both side faces of the bellows of the metal bag 10', the metal bag 10' is pressed and folded while the guide bar 13 is constrained and supported by a guide member 12 movably only in the pressing direction, and then, the guide bar 13 is drawn out of the metal bag 10'.
