<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an image reading and forming apparatus provided with a magnifying optical apparatus which magnifies images and characters on an operation panel to enable a user to see, never obstruct an operation when it is not used, and free from dust or blemish. <P>SOLUTION: The image reading and forming apparatus 1 includes an original document conveying device 2 and a magnifying optical device 4 capable of magnifying and displaying the operation panel 6.
