<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an image forming apparatus capable of effectively carrying out an interruption recording process during the operation of recording on both sides of paper. <P>SOLUTION: If the interruption recording process is for one-sided recording and when a judgement is made that the operation of recording on both sides is in the process of recording on a first side, paper P4 subjected to recording on its first side is inverted and conveyed and kept standby, and paper 3 for interruption recording is fed to carry out the interruption recording process.
