<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a catalyst for purifying an exhaust gas to enhance resistance to poisoning by sulfur without increasing the amount of catalyst metals. <P>SOLUTION: The catalyst for purifying an exhaust gas comprises a combination of a CeZr-based compound oxide containing of Ce and Zr, and a catalyst metal of Rh, wherein the compound oxide is strengthened in its basic by adding a third metal constituent M such as an alkali metal in addition to Ce and Zr while Rh is arranged on a crystal lattice point or between crystal lattice points. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2007,JPO&INPIT |
