PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a liquid crystal display device used for a display part of electronic equipment, while the liquid crystal display device is capable of having excellent display characteristics. SOLUTION: The liquid crystal display device has a control capacitance electrode 26 which is electrically connected to the source electrode 22 of a thin-film transistor 20, a storage capacity electrode 19 which is electrically connected to the control capacitance electrode 26, a pixel electrode having a direct connection portion 16 which is electrically connected to the control capacitance electrode 26 and a capacitive coupling portion 17 which is arranged opposite the control capacitance electrode 26 across an insulating film 31 and formed apart from the direct connection portion 16, and a dummy capacitive coupling portion 15 which is formed in the gap between the direct connection portion 16 and capacitive coupling portion 17 and arranged opposite the storage capacity electrode 19 across a protective film 31 to improve alignment defects of liquid crystal on the capacitive coupling portion 17.
