PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To improve band utilization efficiency of a data transmission line by realizing flexible data communication between communication nodes. SOLUTION: If a packet is not received within a predetermined time, a computer node sends out a data transmission authorized token packet (FTOKEN) to be authorized to send data. If the data transmission authorized token packet is received and a total (CN) of the number (FP) of received tokened data packets of a token ring system sent from a computer node of a present station or data transmission authorized token packets and the number (DP) of received tokened data packets sent by a computer node of another station is equal with or more than N, data of the computer node of the present station are sent onto a ring network as a tokened data packet.
