PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To avoid missing of program viewing during a image quality adjustment period, and to facilitate image quality adjustment. SOLUTION: A video image display apparatus includes: a means (35) for detecting the start of image adjustment when the image adjustment start is detected; a means (35) for starting to record a video image being displayed and displaying a still image; a means (35) for detecting the completion of the image adjustment; and a means (14) for playing back the video image recorded in the record means from the start of recording when the image adjustment completion is detected.
