PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To stably operate an opening-closing valve (a swirl control valve). SOLUTION: This engine 1 has at least one combustion chamber 11, and has at least two intake passages (first and second passages 33b and 22c formed in an inlet pipe 33, and first and second intake ports 12 and 13) communicating with this combustion chamber 11, an SCV 35 arranged in the first passage 33b and opening and closing these intake passages, and an SCV opening-closing mechanism 60 for operating this SCV 35 for opening and closing, and is constituted so as to close the SCV 35 in low load operation. The SCV opening-closing mechanism 60 is composed of a diaphragm 37 connected to the SCV 35 (a valve member 35a) and operating the valve member 35a for opening and closing by pressure in an operation chamber 37a formed inside, and a selector valve 39 for switching the operation chamber 37a and the intake passage (the second passage 35c) unprovided with the atmosphere and the SCV 35.
