PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a light source device for an endoscope which is capable of achieving high-temperature heating preventive effects of a magnet compared to a conventional device with a very simple structure. SOLUTION: The light source device for the endoscope comprises a discharge lamp ML for feeding light to the distal end of an insertion part of the endoscope via a light guide fiber disposed inside the endoscope, and the magnet MG for stabilizing the trajectory of arc by applying the Lorentz force to the arc formed between a cathode ML2 and an anode ML1 of the discharge lamp. In the light source device, a radiation fin MG4 for radiating heat inside the magnet to the outside is integrally formed with the magnet. COPYRIGHT: (C)2007,JPO&INPIT
