The housing (1) for the chuck holds a tapered roller bearing (3) for a rotating hollow spindle (2). The spindle has a conical bore (5) accommodating a conical portion of a chuck body (23). One or more retaining screws (29,30) engage in threaded bores (20) in the spindle to hold the chuck body in place. A screw (9) on the axis may act as a stop for the drill (7). A fastening screw may be turned by an Allen (RTM) key (34) to engage in a groove in the shaft (8a) of the drill. An alternative arrangement may hold a milling tool (36). |
