<p><P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a method for producing an aqueous carbon black dispersion excellent in water dispersedness and ink performance and desirable as a water-based black ink for e.g., an inkjet printer. <P>SOLUTION: A first method for producing the aqueous carbon black dispersion comprises treating carbon black with a surface chemical modifying agent in an aqueous medium, neutralizing the acidic groups formed on the surface of the carbon black by the chemical modification, and subjecting the carbon black to disintegration followed by purification. A second method for producing the aqueous carbon black dispersion comprises treating carbon black with a surface chemical modifying agent in an aqueous medium, neutralizing the acidic groups formed on the surface of the carbon black by the chemical modification, and subjecting the carbon black to purification followed by disintegration. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2007,JPO&INPIT</p> |
