PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a liquid crystal display device of which the luminance of an entire liquid crystal display screen is uniform. SOLUTION: In the liquid crystal display device having a thin film transistor substrate 1 where thin film transistors for driving pixel electrodes are formed, a plurality of light emitting areas 2a for lighting the liquid crystal display screen from the rear side and a plurality of exposure areas 1a where an exposure device is capable of exposing the thin film transistor substrate 1 at once are formed so as to have the same area, and the light emitting areas 2a control the quantities of light to the liquid crystal display screen respectively. Since the quantity of light from each light emitting area 2a is controlled in this liquid crystal display device, the luminance of the liquid crystal display device for each exposure area 1a can be corrected and be made uniform.
