PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a substrate storing container capable of protecting a plate glass and a color filter substrate to be used for a liquid crystal displaying device or the like from damages or breakage, and effective for storing and transporting. SOLUTION: The storing container for storing a laminate constituted by stacking a plurality of substrates comprises a supporting table equipped with a supporting face capable of loading the laminate with the substrates in a horizontal state, a pressing means to apply a uniform pressure to the entire upper face of the laminate loaded on the supporting table and to press the laminate against the supporting table and fix it thereto, a first lid which is attachably/detachably mounted on the supporting table so as to surround the laminate loaded on the supporting table, and a second lid which is attachably/detachably mounted so as to surround the first lid.
