PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To obtain a coping device which can absorb displacement without being damaged, while smoothly following the displacement, without increase in size, even if a displacement value is set at±1,000 mm or more. SOLUTION: This coping device comprises: two or more central maintenance mechanisms wherein a central pivotally-supported part with both the ends pivotally supported on right and left parapets on the joint-section sides of adjacent right and left buildings is constantly positioned in the almost central part of a joint section; a coping cover supporting body, the lower part of which is pivotally supported on the central pivotally-supported part of the two or more central maintenance mechanisms; a coping cover for covering the joint section, the almost central part of which is supported on the coping cover supporting body; two pairs of end lids, the rear ends of which are supported on both the ends of the coping cover supporting body for covering both the ends of the coping cover; and an urging mechanism for urging leading ends of the two pairs of end lids so that the leading ends of them can constantly cover both the ends of the coping cover.
