PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a containment casing utilized with respect to an engine for an aircraft and to provide a manufacturing method for the casing. SOLUTION: The containment casing 1 is provided in which tubular composite material layers 2, 3 is arranged in an angular staggered relationship to minimize overlap between the interstitial spacing between tubes in each respective layer 2, 3. The containment casing 1 being light in weight when compared with a device manufactured by preceding technology is provided in a condition in which continuous plane-like rings 4, 5 exist in a one side part or both side parts in this situation, and operational integrity for retaining resistance to fragment penetration is maintained.
