PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an autonomous storage device which is operable without deteriorating services by another autonomous storage device even in the event of failure of a certain autonomous storage device in an autonomous storage system. SOLUTION: The autonomous storage device 2 comprises a content division means 21b dividing a content to a predetermined division number of content blocks; an error correction code block generation means 21c generating error correction code blocks including error correction codes to the content blocks; and a content storage means 30 storing the blocks.
