PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a map information generating device for appropriately updating noting data. SOLUTION: The processing part 150 of the map information generating device 100 acquires the noting data for displaying an arrangement adjusting note concerning a newly built feature, for example, and sets the arrangement position of an arrangement adjusting note character string in the arrangement adjusting note at a position which substantially corresponds to a position, where the feature of the arrangement adjusting note character string exists, and also at the position which is not overlapped with the existing note. The processing part 150 updates the note data, based on the set arrangement state of the arrangement adjusting note character string, and allows a storage means 130 to store the data. When it is recognized that the whole notes cannot be arranged without being overlapped mutually, only by adjusting the arrangement position of the arrangement adjusting note character string, the processing part 150 sets the arrangement position of the arrangement adjusting note character string at a prescribed position so as to perform the arrangement position adjusting processing of the overlapped existing note character string to be overlapped with the arrangement adjusting note character string which is arranged at the prescribed position.
