PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To extend visual field in various directions by an obstacle detection device. SOLUTION: At least one optical sensor 38 built in a lighting or a signal device 30, 30' for an automobile is provided. The visual field of the sensor 38 is oriented to a direction substantially the same as a longitudinal direction axial line XX of the automobile and a direction substantially the same as a lateral direction axial line YY of the automobile.
