PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a seat belt retractor of motor-driving capable of suppressing generation of operation sound of a power transmission mechanism as much as possible at operation of the power transmission mechanism. SOLUTION: A gear 11 made approaching to a cover 9 of a power transmission gear mechanism 8 is integrally rotatably supported on a rotation shaft but it is made movable in an axial direction of the rotation shaft 12. A ring-like stopper 14 is unmovably fitted to an annular groove 13 provided on the rotation shaft 12 at a cover 9 side than a gear 11 in an axial direction. By the stopper 14, axial movement in a cover 9 direction of the gear 11 is suppressed during rotation of the gear 11 and the gear 11 is not contacted with the cover 9. Further, a space 20 is provided between an opposed end 12a of the rotation shaft 12 and the cover 9 and the rotation shaft 12 is not contacted with the cover 9 by the space 20.
