PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a rotary cam shaft material, and to provide a method for continuously casting the same in high quality. SOLUTION: In the continuous casting method for a rotary cam shaft material 11 where a die 4 has an inner hole 8 corresponding to the cross-sectional shape of a rotary cam shaft material as a cast product, a water-cooled jacket 5 is arranged around the die, so as to cool the die. The molten metal of cast iron is made to flow into the die, so as to be drawn out as it is solidified. The second cooling means 9 (of partially cooling a graphite die) which is different from the water-cooled jacket is applied for uniformizing the cooling of the circumferential face part in the inner hole of the die, or further, another second cooling means (of jetting air or misty water) is applied for uniformizing the temperature in the outer circumference of the rotary cam shaft material after being discharged from the graphite die, or both the second cooling means are applied.
