PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an exfoliation pawl holding fixing device capable of preventing occurrence of dirt and scratch of a fixing roller resulting from toner deposited on exfoliation pawls provided in order to exfoliate recording paper from the fixing roller. SOLUTION: The holding fixing device 1 for exfoliation pawl which is loaded on an image forming apparatus of an electrophotographic system and fixes a toner image formed on the recording paper is constituted by including a plurality of exfoliation pawls 5 provided in order to exfoliate the recording paper from the fixing roller 4, a processed number of sheet detection means 7 for detecting the processed number of sheets of the recording paper which pass through the fixing roller 4 and to which fixing processing is performed, an exfoliation pawl driving means 8 for transferring the plurality of exfoliation pawls 5 in parallel with the axial direction of the fixing roller 4 and a control means 9 for controlling operations of the exfoliation pawl driving means 8 so that relative positions between the exfoliation pawls 5 and the fixing roller 4 change according to detected output of the processed number of sheet detection means 7.
