摘要 <P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a gas diffusion electrode for a polymer electrolyte fuel cell having high gas diffusion capability and high cell performance, and to provide a membrane electrode assembly combining the gas diffusion electrode with an electrolyte and the manufacturing method of the membrane electrode assembly, and to provide the polymer electrolyte fuel cell. <P>SOLUTION: The gas diffusion electrode for the polymer electrolyte fuel cell has a porous membrane made of fluorine resin containing fine particulate carbon material and spacer particles having larger particle size than the carbon material, the membrane electrode assembly for the polymer electrolyte fuel cell is formed by laminating the gas diffusion electrode on both sides of the polymer electrolyte membrane. The manufacturing method contains a first process forming the gas diffusion electrode with a catalyst layer on a substrate, and a second process joining the gas diffusion electrode to both surfaces of the polymer electrolyte membrane and then peeling and removing the substrate. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2007,JPO&INPIT
