<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a manufacturing method of a positive electrode active material with improved capacity and cycle characteristics, as well as a battery using the positive electrode active material obtained by the method. <P>SOLUTION: The cathode 21 is complex oxide particles expressed in Li<SB>1+x</SB>Co<SB>1-y</SB>M<SB>y</SB>O<SB>2-z</SB>containing a positive electrode active material equipped with a coating layer made of oxide containing Li, Ni, and Mn. M is at least a kind out of Mg, Al, B, Ti, V, Cr, Mn, Fe, Ni, Cu, Zn, Mo, Sn, W, Zr, Y, Nb, Ca, and Sr, satisfying: -0.10≤x≤0.10, 0≤y<0.50, -0.10≤z≤0.20. A density of Mn in the coating layer is higher at an outer part than in an inner part, whereby, chemical stability of the positive electrode active material can be improved. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2007,JPO&INPIT |
