CONTENTS SEARCHING/REPRODUCING METHOD, CONTENTS SEARCHING/REPRODUCING APPARATUS, AND PROGRAM AND RECORDING MEDIUM

PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a contents searching/reproducing apparatus whereby a user can easily search/reproduce a desired part (scene) with high accuracy and less data amount in the case of receiving digital broadcast and searching/reproducing stored contents.

SOLUTION: The contents searching/reproducing apparatus includes: an entry means (KW entry section 102) for entering a keyword designated by the user in the case of receiving digital broadcast and searching/reproducing a desired part of the user of stored contents (program storage section 101); a searching means (a KW searching section 103 and a border extract section 104) for part of the contents including caption information in matching with the keyword entered by the entry means by referencing the contents and a position proper to a position of viewing start or a region; and a reproduction means (reproduction section 105) for reproducing the contents from the position or the region searched by the searching means.
